OD Grinding (Outside Diameter)

When turned or machined parts can’t hold the tolerances your application demands, OD grinding is the next step. Grinding achieves tighter dimensional control, better roundness, and smoother surface finishes than turning alone — making it essential for shafts, pins, rollers, journals, bearing fits, and any cylindrical feature where fit and function depend on getting the last tenth right.

Most parts are ground between centers, but when centers aren’t permissible, our engineering team designs and produces customized work-holding fixtures in-house. That flexibility, combined with in-process gaging and CNC-controlled machines, means we consistently deliver on parts that other shops struggle with — complex profiles, tight concentricity calls, and multi-feature geometries.

ID Grinding (Internal Diameter)

Bores, bushings, bearing housings, sleeves, and hydraulic cylinders often require tighter tolerances and finer finishes on their internal surfaces than machining alone can deliver. ID grinding gets you there — and when the relationship between the bore and external features is critical, grinding both in the same setup ensures concentricity holds.
