Bigger Parts, Same Precision

PGI’s CNC machining department is where difficult parts get solved. Our machinists have spent careers programming and running turning centers and mills, pairing time-tested technique with modern CAD/CAM to engineer simple, repeatable solutions to complex parts — the kind of work that usually requires multiple setups, tricky fixturing, or materials that fight back. Turning centers with dual-spindle capability let us complete a part in a single cycle; our mills handle everything from tight-tolerance prismatic components to complex multi-axis geometry.

One capability sets this department apart from most CNC job shops: we design and build our own workpiece fixturing, including the specialized fixtures that hold parts for non-typical grinding applications. That in-house engineering is how PGI holds tolerances on geometries other shops either can’t quote or farm out. Whatever the material, quantity, or complexity, this is the department built to get it done.

Value-Add Services & In-House Grinding

What truly sets PGI apart is our ability to complete your component entirely in-house. When a CNC-machined part needs a ground diameter, a finer surface finish, or a tolerance that only grinding can hold, it moves directly from the mill or lathe to our precision grinding department — no outside vendor, no added lead time, no tolerance risk from handling. Centerless, OD, and ID grinding are all available under the same roof, on the same quality system, under the same PO.

Beyond grinding, PGI’s extensive network of trusted partners covers every remaining finishing requirement under one purchase order — including heat treating, plating, anodizing, and surface finishing. From raw material to fully finished, inspected component, PGI manages the entire process so you don’t have to.

Why Choose PGI for CNC Machining?

Decades of Hands-On Experience

Our CNC department is staffed by machinists who have spent careers programming and running turning centers and mills. They know how to fixture a stubborn part, how to hold a tolerance on a tricky material, and how to keep a job running cleanly through a full production cycle. That depth of experience shows up in the parts we ship.

Grinding-Shop Discipline

Most CNC job shops aren’t held to grinding-shop tolerances. PGI is. Because grinding has been our core competency since 1995, the quality expectations that govern the grinding department carry through to every turning center and mill on our floor — tighter inspection cadence, more deliberate fixturing, and a shop culture that treats ±.0005″ as a starting point, not a stretch goal.

ISO 9001:2015 Certified

PGI has operated under a certified quality management system since the 1990s. Every CNC machining job is run to documented procedures with full traceability, from raw material certification through final inspection.

In-House Precision Grinding

When a CNC-machined part needs a ground feature, it never leaves our facility. One PO, one lead time, one quality system — the entire part comes out our door, ready for the next step in your supply chain.
